Hi, I'm Betty.

I am a social entrepreneur, founder, and strategic leader. For the last 15 years, I have been building and leading a community organisation that I started from scratch, and navigating the complexities of growth, burnout, the pandemic and eventual succession.

During the most challenging periods of my leadership, coaching was a lifeline for me. I started developing my own practice in the early days of running my business through Action Learning Sets with peers in the Social Enterprise sector. Later, I was awarded a scholarship based on my professional track record for postgraduate study in Coaching and Mentoring at Newcastle University. While I paused my Master’s to focus on my organisation’s transition and my exit strategy—and intend to return to it when I have a bit more headspace—that academic foundation informs my work. I completed my formal qualification through the ILM, and am now a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

I have delivered hundreds of hours of client-facing support, working with a consistent caseload of over 40 individuals. And while much of my background involves business advice, I have found that a coaching approach—focused on inquiry and ownership—leads to much more resilient outcomes than simply giving instructions. My practice combines this real-world business experience with evidence-based coaching models.

My coaching philosophy

I don’t offer generic advice. Instead, I facilitate a process of insight and ownership. My practice is built on:

  • Psychological Safety: A straightforward, non-judgmental space for honest conversation.

  • Active Inquiry: Using deep listening and questioning to uncover what is actually happening beneath the surface.

  • Structured Frameworks: Using evidence-based models to provide a clear roadmap for change.

  • Integrity & Ethics: Clear boundaries, strict confidentiality, and ongoing professional supervision.

The structure

Sessions last 60–90 minutes, providing a focused space for deep thinking. We follow a simple structure designed for progress:

  • Contracting: Clarifying the specific outcome you want from the session.

  • Exploration: Mapping the current situation and identifying hidden barriers.

  • Possibility: Uncovering choices and new perspectives.

  • Commitment: Agreeing on actions you feel genuinely confident taking.

Who I support

I work with leaders and individuals who are:

  • Recovering: Rebuilding after burnout or chronic overwhelm.

  • Transitioning: Navigating a significant career pivot or personal change.

  • Leading: Developing the inner confidence to match their outer responsibilities.

  • Deciding: Seeking clarity amidst competing demands and high-pressure choices.

While I understand the weight of leadership and the mechanics of business, my coaching remains client-led. You are the expert on your life and work; I am here to guide the process.

Work with me

I offer one-to-one coaching for leaders and individuals navigating personal change, leadership challenges, or professional transitions.

This work is designed for the moments when things feel heavy or stuck—when you know a shift is necessary, but the path forward isn't yet visible. I offer a calm, steady environment to slow down and process your experience, creating the space for the kind of deep reflection that is often impossible within the noise of the day-to-day.

Who I work with

I work with people who are rebuilding after burnout, navigating transitions, or redefining what leadership looks like for them. My background as a founder and strategic leader means I understand the practical realities of high-level responsibility and the weight of sustained pressure.

However, I also know that leadership doesn’t happen in a vacuum. My own path was shaped by running a business while managing personal crises—including coming to terms with a genetic condition and a late-stage ADHD diagnosis.

I understand the specific exhaustion of holding space for others while privately carrying your own invisible challenges. I offer a collaborative process where your professional responsibilities and your personal realities are both honoured.

My approach

At the heart of my work is the creation of a safe, quiet space where you can think more clearly. My coaching is grounded in deep listening and reflective questioning. I provide a supportive structure that helps you find your own insights and take ownership of what comes next.

My practice is built on:

  • Psychological safety: Creating a non-judgemental environment for honest exploration.
  • Intentional pace: Honouring your capacity and allowing for sustainable progress.
  • Structured exploration: Using evidence-based frameworks to maintain focus and clarity.
  • Professional integrity: Adhering to strict ethical boundaries and ongoing supervision.

I don’t give advice or tell you what to do. Instead, I facilitate a process centred on your direction, helping you move forward confidently with a sense of renewed clarity.
